While Jeremiah is dedicated to basketball, studying and doing well in school is his top priority. Participating in a sport has helped him succeed in academics by strengthening his resolve and
commitment to do his best.
Jeremiah was nominated by his father, Michael Malinis, a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served on several deployments overseas. Organized sports is an opportunity Michael wanted for all of his children, having missed that in his own youth. Receiving the Randy Jones Foundation Scholarship means the world to Jeremiah and his two siblings.
